Sends each new member a direct message a few seconds after they join.
New members get a private message shortly after joining. You send plain text or a full embed: title, description, color, footer, thumbnail and a large image. The same person is not messaged twice inside the cooldown window, and bots are skipped.
What it does
- Sends an embed by default, with title, description, color, server icon in the footer, member avatar as thumbnail and an optional large image
- Fills in {user}, {username}, {displayName}, {server} and {memberCount}
- Waits 3 seconds before sending by default, to stay clear of Discord rate limits, and the delay is configurable
- Skips a user it already messaged in the last 5 minutes, by default
- Counts and logs failed DMs instead of retrying them in a loop
Worth knowing before you turn it on
Requires the Pro plan. Many people turn off DMs from server members and Discord offers no way around that, so those messages fail and there is nothing the bot can do about it. The failure goes to the bot log only: no fallback post in a channel, no report to your staff. If you do not write your own text, the built-in default DM is in Italian. Images and thumbnails have to be URLs you host somewhere, the bot does not upload files. No buttons or link components, it is a plain embed.
