Dynamic Voice Channels

Creates a private voice room for whoever joins your trigger channel, and deletes it when empty.

You pick one voice channel as the trigger and one category. When someone joins the trigger, the bot creates a fresh voice channel in that category and moves them into it. A few seconds after the last person leaves, the channel is deleted. A sweep runs every couple of minutes to catch anything the events missed.

What it does

  • Names each room from a template with {username}, {displayname} and {tag} placeholders
  • Gives the creator Connect, Speak, Stream and voice activity on their room, plus Manage Channel, Move, Mute and Deafen when owner controls are on
  • Applies an optional user limit to every room, and hides rooms from @everyone if you prefer them private
  • Caps how many rooms one member can keep open at once, 3 by default
  • Re-adopts the rooms still in use in that category after a restart instead of leaving them orphaned

Worth knowing before you turn it on

Two IDs are required before it starts: the trigger voice channel and the category. One trigger per server, since the code reads a single trigger channel ID, so you cannot run several differently-named creators. Keep permanent voice channels out of that category: the cleanup sweep deletes any empty voice channel in it that is older than 5 minutes. There is no control panel or command set inside the room: the owner renames, locks or limits it through Discord's own channel settings, and only when owner controls are turned on. If the bot restarts while a room is in use, ownership goes to the first member it sees in there.
